Hastings has a Thai restaurant that locals love, and its kitchen needs a skilled, experienced Thai Chef on a permanent basis, working at least 30 hours a week. Recipes are traditional, ingredients are top quality, and fresh herbs and spices are balanced with care.
The ideal person understands authentic Thai cuisine deeply and can prepare, cook and present each dish to a consistently high standard. As an Accredited Employer under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) scheme, the business can sponsor workers on that visa.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook authentic Thai food, including curries, stir-fries, soups, salads and entrees
- Make sure every plate meets the restaurant's standard for quality, taste and look
- Run the kitchen day to day, covering food preparation, storage and hygiene compliance
- Help plan menus and keep portions and stock under control
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff as required, keep the kitchen clean, and follow food safety and health regulations
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least two (2) years of relevant work experience as a Thai Chef, or a relevant qualification in commercial cookery
- A proven record of cooking authentic Thai cuisine
- Strong knowledge of Thai ingredients, herbs and cooking techniques
- Efficient work habits in a busy kitchen
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required
