Dubbo, in New South Wales, is the base for a commercial bakery on the lookout for a Pastry Chef or Bakery Assistant. You will need practical experience with cakes and pastries and with large-scale baking machinery, plus qualifications and a work history that can be confirmed.
This role is open to applicants already in Australia. Eligible candidates may be considered for sponsorship under the Orana DAMA.

Key Responsibilities
- Measure and mix ingredients for cakes, pastries and other baked goods
- Operate mixers, ovens, dispensers and similar production machinery
- Review every batch coming off the line for uniformity
- Maintain an orderly, efficient production flow
- Stick to recipes, production procedures and quality standards
- Apply food safety, hygiene, GMP and HACCP daily and leave work areas spotless
- Clean down and look after bakery equipment
- Lift, carry, push and pull stock and materials weighing up to 25kg safely, while helping the bakery hit its production targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Time on the floor of a commercial bakery, pastry or food-production site
- Able to make bakery or pastry products
- Holding a baking or food-production qualification is advantageous
- Working knowledge of commercial food safety and hygiene, including GMP and HACCP principles
- Can use bakery machinery safely and efficiently
- Pays close attention to product quality and consistency
- Fits well into a production-focused team
- Physically capable of handling loads of up to 25kg
- Currently residing in Australia, and able to supply evidence of relevant qualifications and work experience
