A Christchurch CBD rooftop bar, one of the city's premier hospitality venues and now in its sixth year, is after an experienced Duty Manager. It trades Tuesday through to Sunday, with a diverse menu built on sharing plates and fresh seasonal dishes, plus full table service throughout. Mondays are for venue presentation, cocktail competitions, functions and staff trainings.
The aim is a small, strong team that is willing to dig in, with consistent and in-depth training and room to grow for those committed to the industry. The role is permanent and full-time on a 30 hour minimum contract with rotating closing shifts, so evenings and weekends are part of the job, and Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable. Immediate starts are possible and sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests as they walk in.
- Handle bookings and customer enquiries as they arrive.
- Provide customer service: taking orders, up-selling and payments.
- Front the team and keep customers satisfied.
- Act as the point of contact for functions.
- Watch front of house costs, overheads and the roster to stay in line with KPI's and targets.
- Deliver front of house trainings.
- Foster a positive workplace and staff culture.
- Order stock and run the monthly stocktake.
- Follow standard opening and closing procedures.
- Keep the venue safe and healthy.
- Make sure all legal obligations are met.
- Help shape new menus (drinks, recipes, costings and marketing).
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum three years bar experience
- A warm, welcoming personality and a positive attitude
- A drive to succeed
- The ambition to grow and develop
- High volume cocktail experience
- A passion for the industry
- A valid LCQ and current Duty Managers Certificate
- Able to commit to evening and weekend work (Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable)
