Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals to approved recipes and menus, meeting patient dietary and nutritional needs and planning preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Keep presentation, portions, consistency and food quality high.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, infection control and kitchen safety procedures and finish within production and service schedules.
- Check storage and stock rotation and maintain a tidy, hygienic and clean kitchen.
- Coordinate with the catering team and adapt to operational changes while maintaining service standards, supporting a positive patient experience through dependable meals.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional Cook experience in commercial kitchens, healthcare, aged care, hospitality or catering.
- Practical knowledge of commercial cooking and food preparation, with sound food safety, hygiene and handling knowledge supported by relevant food handling or safety qualifications.
- Reliably follows menus, recipes, dietary instructions and workplace procedures, keeping pace with busy service and strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills and readiness for rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- A professional approach focused on quality and detail, with sincere interest in patient wellbeing through quality meals.
- Able to meet applicable employment, work-rights, reference, criminal history and health-related pre-employment requirements.
