Regional New South Wales is home to a fast-growing Vietnamese restaurant group that needs 3 experienced Cooks/Chefs, available to start straight away. It looks for motivated, reliable, hardworking cooks who thrive in a fast-paced commercial kitchen. Anyone holding a Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) is welcome to apply.
This role is open to applicants already in Australia. You would work at the restaurant you are allocated, and might first do initial training in Port Macquarie. Long-term Cook/Chef candidates who are suitable and eligible may be considered for Skills in Demand (Subclass 482) sponsorship, depending on business needs, individual eligibility, satisfactory work performance and applicable immigration requirements, and it is not automatic.
For an Asian kitchen, name the cuisines and dishes you have cooked, such as noodle soups, stir-fries and rice dishes, along with your cookery qualification. Keep it tidy and put the CV together with Build AI CV.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook Vietnamese and Asian-style dishes to restaurant standard
- Hold quality, presentation and portions steady
- Look after prep, stock rotation and kitchen cleanliness in line with food safety and hygiene procedures
- Keep up through busy lunch and dinner services
- Cooperate with colleagues in the kitchen and front of house so everything runs smoothly
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial Cookery qualifications or relevant professional kitchen experience
- Highly preferred: time spent in Asian cuisine kitchens, especially Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese or other Asian restaurants
- An advantage: you have prepared noodle soups, stir-fries, rice dishes and other Asian meals
- Able to work independently and cope with busy service periods
- Reliable, punctual and committed to high standards
- Flexible availability, weekends included, and currently located in Australia
