Queensland's Sunshine Coast has a popular tourist venue with a bar and grill that needs a passionate, experienced full-time Chef. Lunch and dinner menus are dynamic, functions and events run in a flexible event space, and the food is high-quality Western cuisine with Asian fusion that mirrors the region and the many cultural backgrounds of an international kitchen team.
You would work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef and be central to the kitchen's daily operation, keeping food quality, presentation and service exceptional. Visa sponsorship opportunities are available for suitable eligible applicants.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, plate and garnish dishes consistently well
- Be responsible for a kitchen section you are assigned
- Receive and check deliveries and account for them according to business procedures
- Rotate stock, minimise wastage and manage inventory
- Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy and in line with food safety and hygiene requirements
- Track portion sizes, food costs and quality control
- Contribute to menu development, recipes and costing with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
- Coordinate preparation and service so food goes out on time in busy periods, and support, train and mentor the kitchen team
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant culinary qualification, or at least five years' full-time experience in a similar kitchen
- Confidence working across kitchen sections: grill, pans, larder, dessert and pizza
- Real passion for food, flavour, quality and presentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Multitasks well and performs in a fast-paced environment, tackling problems and managing time proactively
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Flexible for a seven-day roster that includes weekends, school holidays and split shifts
