Keeping a growing golf-club kitchen running well means balancing preparation, service and support for less experienced colleagues. This Chef opening, listed under Shepparton, is in a tourist area of north-east Victoria and offers an immediate start. You will join a professional brigade reporting to the Head Chef and working with the sous chef and kitchenhands. This role is open to applicants already in Australia with work rights.
The kitchen supports a 7-day operation across weekdays and weekends. Applicants must already be in Australia with valid work rights. Sponsorship may be available to exceptional applicants after a successful trial period.
Show your commercial-cookery qualification, kitchen experience and approach to food quality in an English CV. Describe your cooking and team-support experience clearly so the Head Chef can understand your contribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook the menu, checking dish quality through preparation and presentation.
- Train and oversee newly appointed or less experienced staff.
- Delegate work to colleagues, supervise cooks and help where needed.
- Monitor ingredients and stock, place orders and follow hygiene regulations.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial cookery experience and qualifications (Cert 3 or higher)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
- Be flexible about availability and communicate well
- Work effectively both independently and with the team
- Understand OH&S and food hygiene requirements
- Hold valid work rights in Australia and be available across weekdays and weekends for a 7-day operation
