A country hotel in the Southern Alps, an award winner set among the mountains, needs an adaptable Chef de Partie with plenty of experience, a wide skill set and a love of busy kitchens. Weddings and functions are frequent, which keeps service varied. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable fast-paced setting, and experience cooking Kiwi / western cuisine is a must.
This is permanent, full-time work with an immediate start. Rosters give at least 30 hours a week over 4 days, including weekends and nights, and the commitment runs until mid-April 2027, when the summer season ends. Preference goes to citizens and permanent residents, or anyone with at least 6 months on their work visa. Sponsorship may be available to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Be familiar with the daily and ongoing menus, functions and specials
- Take charge of kitchen and service, efficiently and effectively, whenever the senior chef is off
- Use grills, microwaves, deep-fat fryers and other cooking equipment safely, adjusting temperatures as required
- Clean preparation and service areas every day
- Keep necessary stock on hand, at the right quality and in the right quantity
- Check that each part of a dish meets standard, is properly cooked and arrives on time, following recipes and instructions with care
Requirements & Eligibility
- 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
- Experience cooking Kiwi / western cuisine
- A hospitality, cookery or culinary qualification (preferred)
- Fast, safe working habits, and excellent verbal communication
- Rostered hours including weekends and nights, and a commitment until mid-April 2027
