Chef de Partie

Visa sponsorship

Hospitality · Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia · Full-Time · Discussed at interview · Visa: Employer sponsored

A kitchen in Coffs Harbour has a section waiting for a Chef de Partie who is ready to move up. You would run that section yourself, learn from senior chefs and help the team deliver good food at a good pace, with guests who notice the details. Steadiness, cooperation and composure under pressure matter most.

Candidates with suitable skills and experience may be eligible for employer sponsorship.

Lead with where you trained, which kitchens gave you your own section and what busy nights you have survived. A Build AI CV profile can carry all of that, plus a line on coaching younger cooks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a designated kitchen section from prep to service
  • Plate every dish to the standard expected for quality, presentation and portions
  • Work hand in hand with senior chefs for a smooth, efficient kitchen
  • Suggest menu ideas and specials, making use of seasonal, locally available produce
  • Mentor and assist junior cooks day to day
  • Uphold food handling, cleanliness and hygiene standards, and follow food safety procedures and workplace requirements
  • Monitor how ingredients and stock are used, and let the team know what to reorder
  • Prepare for busy services, functions and special events, and join discussions about kitchen improvements in a cooperative, positive and professional manner

  • Recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training
  • Track record as a Chef de Partie, or in a comparable professional kitchen role
