Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare meals in line with the kitchen's agreed standards
- Take care of the day's preparation, setting up for lunch and dinner services
- Work from the recipes so each plate looks and tastes the same
- Chip in with ideas on menus and new recipes when asked
- Juggle several dishes during rushes, finishing prep and cooking to time and shifting gears when priorities change
- Check quality, presentation and portions
- Keep your section tidy and hygienic and apply food safety procedures
- Work closely with the rest of the kitchen throughout service
- Hold your performance steady when the kitchen is flat out, and lend a hand with general operations if needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Has worked professionally as a Cook or Chef
- Proven commercial kitchen background, including fast, high-volume hospitality
- Keeps food quality consistent under pressure and understands cooking methods and food preparation well
- Follows recipes and kitchen procedures precisely
- Well organised and good at managing time
- Takes workplace responsibilities seriously and acts professionally
- Gets on with a kitchen team and communicates clearly
- Hard-working and upbeat, with a real passion for food preparation and hospitality
- Free to work weekends, early mornings and late-night shifts when required
- Having worked across multi-venue hospitality before is advantageous
- Holds relevant culinary qualifications and/or has substantial industry experience
- Meets the applicable Australian employment and visa requirements and is willing to go through candidate verification and assessment
