Rotorua's newest gastropub is recruiting the people who will open it, starting with three seasoned bartenders. The work is cocktails, pints, wine and spirits and attentive service in a lively room, so proven bar experience and a guest-first attitude come before everything else.
Eligible overseas applicants can be sponsored, as long as the job check is approved and immigration requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
- Create cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks too, to the venue's recipes and standards
- Serve beer, wine and spirits with confident product knowledge
- Greet guests warmly and respond to their needs in a polished way
- Record sales accurately through the POS system
- Restock drinks, keep the shelves tidy and help with rotation, ordering and inventory
- Keep the bar and service areas sparkling
- Follow New Zealand rules on responsible alcohol service
- Run opening and closing tasks, handle cash and complete end-of-shift procedures when needed
- Back colleagues up when the venue is busy
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years' professional bartending experience in a relevant role
- Practical cocktail-making and drinks-service background, with working knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
- Can supply evidence of relevant employment where required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confident, reliable and professional in a busy hospitality environment
- Available for evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Applicants must satisfy applicable New Zealand immigration requirements
- If an English test is required, applicants must meet current Immigration New Zealand rules or hold an accepted exemption
