A bakery with a big local name, in a thriving coastal town in the South West of Western Australia, needs a Baker to work next to its Bread Team Leader and Production Manager. It suits anyone who wants to grow their baking knowledge and career.
The roster is 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday, from 2am to 12pm: a 38 hour week, with overtime if needed, and weekends free. Sponsorship is available for the right person.
Bakery hirers look for volume experience and trade skill, so list the breads and pastries you have produced, the ovens you have run and your HACCP exposure. Then smarten it up with Build AI CV.
Key Responsibilities
- Blend white doughs
- Shape sourdough loaves
- Bake sourdough in a three level bread oven
- Roll puff pastry
- Manage stock, with a good grasp of how sourdough and croissant dough ferment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Genuine enthusiasm for producing quality products for the cabinet
- Teamwork experience
- Background in preparation, service and kitchen management
- Earlier experience in volume bakery environments
- Formal trade qualification in commercial cooking, or equivalent
- Excellent communication
- HACCP experience is desirable, with a high emphasis on food hygiene
- Experience operating a commercial bread oven; positive, energetic and adaptable; able to work very early
