A Brisbane rail operator needs an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer who knows rail vehicle electrical systems, fleet upgrades and engineering assurance well. Reviewing technical solutions and overseeing large modification programs sit at the centre of the job.
You would work with specialist engineers and project teams so every delivery stage meets strict safety, quality and operating standards. Qualified overseas applicants can be offered employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Be the technical lead on electrical rolling stock engineering projects
- Review designs, overhaul documents and technical submissions
- Coordinate engineering work among contractors, project managers and specialists, ensuring electrical requirements are met until delivery
- Support programs to modify, refurbish and improve fleet reliability
- Lead engineering inspections, testing, commissioning and acceptance
- Produce engineering specifications, scopes of work, procedures and technical reports
- Investigate equipment faults and design workable engineering solutions, and monitor engineering quality, compliance and project performance
- Liaise with maintenance teams, suppliers and operational stakeholders, explaining complex technical matters plainly, and support continuous improvement in safety and asset reliability
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Extensive experience in rolling stock or rail vehicle electrical engineering
- Sound knowledge of modifications, upgrades and overhaul programs for electrical systems
- Has led engineering investigations, testing and commissioning
- Can produce technical documentation, engineering specifications and scopes of work, with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and a current unrestricted driver's licence
