Automation specialists across several sites will back you up in this Automation Technician role at a busy manufacturing site. The work centres on PLCs, control systems, troubleshooting, improving the plant and delivering automation projects, with AI, robotics and advanced manufacturing technologies in the mix. Hours are 45 a week, Monday to Friday, usually starting at 7am, and there is plenty of project work.
Preference goes to suitably qualified candidates based in New Zealand, though experienced overseas applicants are encouraged to apply, and Accredited Employer Work Visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Program PLCs, then troubleshoot and commission them
- Provide HMI and SCADA system support
- Deliver automation upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Find faults in electrical and control systems
- Back plant reliability and performance, working with engineering, maintenance and production teams
- Help bring new automation technologies on board
Requirements & Eligibility
- A qualification in an electrical trade, or something similar
- Ideally 4-5+ years of manufacturing or industrial automation experience
- Experience on common PLC platforms
- Strong skills in fault-finding and troubleshooting
- Reads electrical drawings and control schematics with confidence
- Self-motivated
- Practical
