Rope Access Technician
Visa sponsorship
Trade · Auckland, New Zealand · Full-Time · $30 - $36.50/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored
For over 20 years a commercial property maintenance company has worked in New Zealand, and it now has five permanent full-time vacancies for experienced abseilers who maintain buildings at height. You would divide your time between greater Auckland and Christchurch depending on the work, so expect regular travel with overnight stays and the odd short trip to other regions.
The contract sets a minimum of 70 hours a fortnight, but most people work 40 hours a week, either 7am to 5pm Monday to Saturday or night shifts from 6pm to 2am Monday to Thursday, with rosters about a week ahead. As an accredited employer under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) scheme, the company can sponsor overseas hires and invites IRATA-qualified abseilers who are currently overseas and want to work in New Zealand to get in touch.
Rope access employers check tickets first, so put your IRATA level, first aid certificates and inspection qualification at the top of your CV. Build AI CV for IRATA abseilers keeps that list clean.
