Metal Casting Trade Worker
Visa sponsorship
Trade · Christchurch, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35 - $41/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored
Christchurch is home to a foundry serving a world leader in marine propulsion, with products in use across 120-plus countries. It is recruiting experienced Moulders. The heart of the job is sand moulding, so applicants need a minimum of five years doing it by hand in a production foundry. Work is cast in Aluminium, AB2 (aluminium bronze alloy) and Stainless Steel, and time across several alloys is highly valued.
You will be a working tradesperson who stays safe and productive across many foundry processes. Be ready for any of these rosters as production demands: Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm, 7:00am to 3:30pm, 2:30pm to 10:30pm or 3:30pm to 11:30pm, and Sunday to Friday nights 10:30pm to 6:30am or 11:00pm to 7:00am. At least two weeks' notice precedes any new pattern. As an Accredited Employer, the business may back visa applications from suitably qualified applicants, so sponsorship is a real possibility.
