Project Analyst

Visa sponsorship

Construction · Perth, WA, Australia · Contract · Discussed at interview · Visa: Employer sponsored

A piling contractor working on a major solar construction project needs a Project Analyst to act as technical site administrator inside its site team. Do not expect typical admin: the job leans on analysis and suits an Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or Solar QA background, or something close, and anyone who enjoys data, systems and operational processes.

Working with the project team, you will dig into construction figures, reconcile quantities, keep project systems in order and lift the quality of reporting and productivity. Sponsorship by the employer may be considered for the right candidate.

Analysts get hired on evidence, so lay yours out: Excel work with pivot tables and XLOOKUP, tracker systems you have kept and reporting you have improved. To present that clearly, turn your data-driven CV into something easy to scan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile plant, timesheet and production figures into daily and weekly reports.
  • Examine how productive the construction work is and how the project is performing, flagging data discrepancies, trends and room for improvement.
  • Check quantities for piles, trackers and modules against each other.
  • Update registers covering survey results, pile testing and tolerances.
  • Manage the quality paperwork: ITPs, ITCs, ITRs, punch lists and QA registers.
  • Keep AppSheet trackers, dashboards and other project systems running.
  • Help refine and streamline how site systems operate.
  • Plan deliveries, materials and laydown areas, and keep their registers.
  • Liaise on documentation and reporting with project teams, the client and the principal contractor.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Desirable: a background or qualification in a related technical discipline such as Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or Operations Engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills; confident working with large or complex data sets.
  • Advanced Excel skills covering formulas, pivot tables, data validation and VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP.
  • A keen interest in operational efficiency, productivity and process improvement.
  • Can understand workflows and spot where systems and processes could work better.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills; quick to learn new systems.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote site environment.
  • Experience with Google Sheets, AppSheet, Google Data Studio, Primavera P6 or Employment Hero would be advantageous.
  • Experience in solar construction, manufacturing, logistics, operations or other project based environments will also be highly regarded.
