An Australian flooring firm with a long track record needs another Flooring Installer for steady, permanent, full-time work around Perth and the rest of Western Australia. Work is commercial and the clients are Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders. You would answer to the Site Supervisor, take charge of your own speciality covering, map out each task, aim to nail it first go and leave a tidy, professional finish, collaborating with the builder's site crew and the other trades.
A good outcome means quality installs, delivered on programme, safely and with few defects. Overseas installers with the right qualifications can access visa sponsorship.
A flooring CV should name your coverings, such as vinyl or carpet, your subfloor preparation skills and any White Card or trade certificate. Plain English helps site supervisors read it quickly, and you can lay it out neatly with Build AI CV.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay the coverings you are expert in, whether sheet vinyl, LVT and other resilient coverings (welding and coving included) or carpet and carpet tiles
- Get subfloors ready through grinding, patching, priming and levelling
- Carry out and log moisture and flatness testing before the install starts
- Read drawings and finishes schedules, then measure and set out with accuracy
- Work with the builder's site crew and other trades so that the job stays on programme
- Check materials on arrival, store and protect them on site, and keep waste down
- Fill in timesheets, daily reports, quality checklists and photo records, and observe site safety rules, inductions and safe work method statements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial flooring experience for at least 3 years, in Australia or overseas
- Skills in at least one of these trades: subfloor preparation, carpet installation or vinyl installation
- A trade qualification in floor coverings (such as Certificate III in Flooring Technology) or comparable experience or qualifications from overseas; preferred but not required
- A WA White Card, or the ability to obtain one prior to starting
- Holds a driver's licence valid in Australia; dependable, detail-focused and able to communicate in English on site
