Work on standby power and critical building systems at Sydney commercial sites. The Electrician or Junior Electrician services generator installations, supports upgrades, tests emergency power and investigates controls and electrical faults. Engineering support accompanies practical work in generator controls, telemetry and switchgear.
An English CV should show your current NSW Electrical Licence and genuine trade history. prepare a standby power and generator controls electrician CV with examples of schematics, control wiring and fault diagnosis. Identify controller experience and your interest in PLCs and telemetry. Explain the jobs you complete independently and how you contribute to a small technical team, including scheduled night or weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair electrical parts of standby generator installations and support upgrades, modifications and commissioning.
- Conduct emergency power and generator tests during building shutdowns, including AFSS-related tests.
- Diagnose controllers, PLCs and control circuits and test and troubleshoot Automatic Transfer Switches and related switchgear.
- Interpret schematics and single-line drawings and complete control wiring, testing, telemetry and control-system work.
- Investigate problems and select practical solutions, communicate with colleagues while working independently and support engineers on specialist projects.
- Cover scheduled night and weekend assignments.
Requirements & Eligibility
- You must hold a current NSW Electrical Licence (essential), with proven electrician trade experience and verifiable employment history.
- Skilled electrical schematic and single-line interpretation and a strong hands-on approach with confident tool use.
- Good diagnosis and practical solutions, comfortable working independently and contributing within a small team.
- Deep Sea, Cummins, CAT or Woodward generator controller experience is advantageous.
- Interest in PLCs, control wiring, telemetry and standby power; Full NSW Driver Licence required and able to drive manual.
- Available for occasional nights and weekends; eligible applicants may be considered for visa sponsorship.
