Wollongong is home to a multi-service finance firm, covering accounting, tax, lending and advice, that is recruiting an Accountant with roughly 2 to 3 years of Australian public practice behind them. The accounting team works collaboratively. Clients come from SMEs, companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals; a seasoned Senior Accountant would back you and review your work, and you would pick up greater responsibility and more direct client contact as time passes.
The career path leads to Senior Accountant and then Client Manager, and development support for CPA or CA is available. Sponsorship may be considered for the right candidate, depending on experience, role suitability and visa eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce financial statements and income tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships and individual clients
- Prepare Business Activity Statements
- Complete accounting and tax work for SME clients
- Assist with year-end tax planning
- Liaise with clients, and with the ATO when needed
- Manage your own workflow and statutory deadlines
- Support the Senior Accountant with client portfolios, working in Xero and other cloud systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Roughly 2 to 3 years of public practice accounting in Australia
- A record of preparing financial statements and tax returns for clients who are companies, trusts, partnerships or individuals
- A solid grasp of Australian tax and compliance, including how to prepare BAS
- Strong Xero skills
- Clear writing and speaking, close attention to detail and the capacity to manage competing deadlines
- An accounting, commerce or equivalent tertiary qualification; CPA or CA studies (or plans to start them) highly regarded
