Take responsibility for SME accounts and taxation at an established Cairns practice. The senior accounting role combines direct client relationships with hands-on tax and financial statement work, business advice and development towards a Manager position over time. The practice needs substantial Australian public practice experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting and tax for an assigned SME client portfolio and build lasting relationships through direct discussion of accounting, taxation and business matters.
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns accurately and efficiently, applying Division 7A knowledge and handling Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
- Support accounting and advisory needs and contribute to advisory projects and value-added services.
- Maintain high professional and compliance standards and coordinate with colleagues for consistent outcomes.
- Develop technical and leadership capability towards a Manager role.
Requirements & Eligibility
- CA or CPA qualified or close to completing, with Australian Public Practice experience of at least 4 years.
- Strong practical Australian tax compliance, including Division 7A, CGT and FBT.
- A proven SME client record and independent relationship management, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Polished professional presentation and interpersonal skills and high attention to detail.
- Reliable professional work ethic, willing to learn and accept greater responsibility and effective in a collaborative accounting team.
