If you hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and enjoy handing on what you know, this one is for you. A training provider serving the civil and mining industries wants experienced trainers and assessors who will give students personal, hands-on tuition on a working mine site and turn out safe, confident operators who are genuinely ready for employment.
There are two vacancies. The 1x Civil Trainer & Assessor and the 1x Dozer / Excavator Trainer (production mining D11 & 3600) both work Monday-Friday on 8-12 hour shifts, with alternating Saturdays on offer for the civil role. The mining trainer splits time across 2 mine sites. Training takes place around 60 minutes north of Perth, which means you sleep at home each night; optional FIFO Rigid Haul Truck training is also available. Key Responsibilities
- Teach and assess to nationally recognised, competency-based standards.
- Give operators personal, hands-on machine training on a live mine site.
- Guide students towards real jobs in civil and mining.
- Work to site operating procedures and industry best practice.
- Comply with the WHS Act 2020, Mines Safety and Inspection legislation and RTO standards.
- Safeguard assessment integrity: only operators who are competent should be deemed competent.
- Keep training and assessment paperwork accurate.
- Be part of a supportive training team and a safe, professional, positive learning space.
- Mining Trainer: support the civil side whenever Dozer & Excavator programmes aren't running.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110 held
- Relevant experience operating civil & Mining equipment
- Supervisory experience desirable
- Performs well under pressure and decides confidently
- Comfortable solo or in a Team
- Time Management is crucial with paying customers

- Dependable, professional and punctual
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and daily breathalyser requirements
- Civil Trainer: you will stand out with current competency and experience on several items of civil plant, including RIIMPO338E (Rigid Haul Truck), RIIHAN309F (Telehandler), RIIMPO318F (Skid Steer Loader), RIIHAN311F (Integrated Tool Carrier), RIIMPO317F (Roller), RIIMPO321F (Front End Loader), RIIMPO206D (Bulk Water Truck), RIIMPO320F (Civil Construction Excavator) and RIIMPO337E (Articulated Haul Truck)
- Mining Trainer: RIIMPO323E (Dozer) and RIIMPO324F (Grader); RII Qualifications are desirable rather than required, and the civil plant units above count in your favour
