Support a young Geraldton participant with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The family needs patient, consistent person-centred care that builds daily living skills, communication, confidence and independence. Shifts are flexible across daytime and after-school hours, following individual routines and established support strategies.
Sponsorship is available for eligible international applicants demonstrating relevant experience, strong communication and genuine commitment to disability support.
An English CV should describe ASD support, behaviour plans and communication assistance you have provided. prepare an individual disability support worker CV with examples of calm responses, clear notes and collaboration with families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent one-to-one support around the participant's routines and needs and build independence through activities and skill development.
- Assist communication and sensory or behavioural needs using positive methods and suitable redirection.
- Understand and implement Behaviour Support Plans and instructions and respond calmly and professionally to behavioural changes.
- Encourage meaningful participation to improve engagement and confidence.
- Communicate clearly with family, carers and support networks and write accurate reports, shift notes and paperwork.
- Develop a respectful, consistent and trusting relationship.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of professional disability support or similar care experience and demonstrated Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support.
- Experience with communication assistance and behaviour management and confidence implementing established care plans and strategies.
- Strong English and clear professional communication, with dependable commitment to consistent support and patient, compassionate understanding.
- Able to work independently and contribute to a support team; relevant qualifications or practical disability support experience preferred.
