A family general practice with a long track record is hiring a full-time Practice Nurse, Monday to Friday, in Dubbo. The ideal person is an experienced Registered Nurse who will be the backbone of clinical operations, delivering comprehensive primary health care to individuals and families, including home visits for health assessments.
Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
Practice nursing is broad, so your CV should show immunisation, wound care, chronic disease work and your AHPRA registration, with Certified Immuniser status if you hold it. Pull your clinical skills together with Build AI CV so a practice manager sees the range quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Back up the medical practitioner as services are delivered
- Coordinate the treatment room: stock, sterilisation and equipment upkeep
- Play a part in patient education
- Put infection control and WHS practices into action, and help the practice reach accreditation standards
- Provide clinical leadership to colleagues
- Handle patient triage
- Wound care and dressings; childhood and adult immunisations; travel vaccinations
- Carry out ECG, audiometry, spirometry and corporate health checks
- Chronic disease management, age-appropriate health assessments and Indigenous health assessments
- Cold-chain management plus staff education
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current AHPRA registration with required CPD points
- Basic Life Support / CPR certificate (or equivalent) that is current
- Working With Children Check
- Skills in multi-tasking, problem solving and time management
- Written and verbal communication skills that are strong
- Certified Immuniser status is looked upon favourably
