Mechanic

Visa sponsorship

Automotive · Perth, WA, Australia · Full-Time · Discussed at interview · Visa: Employer sponsored

Aviation operations in Western Australia depend on vehicles and ground equipment that never let the crew down, and the maintenance team behind them wants a qualified Mechanic. You would look after a fleet plus Ground Support Equipment (GSE), so the work is more varied than a standard garage, with plenty of fault diagnosis and urgent call-outs.

Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas candidates who meet the required trade and employment criteria, and those needing it may be considered on qualifications, experience and overall suitability.

For a mechanic, the CV should name the trade qualification, the machines you have repaired and your licence class. Build AI CV makes it easy to set that out cleanly, with diesel, hydraulic and welding strengths placed up top.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, inspect and maintain fleet vehicles and specialist mechanical equipment so they stay reliable
  • Find faults in mechanical, diesel and hydraulic systems and repair them once the cause is confirmed
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance as well as corrective repairs
  • Respond to breakdowns and urgent mechanical needs
  • Work on Ground Support Equipment and other specialised fleet assets, judging their condition and spotting likely problems before they bite
  • Complete repairs to the safety and quality levels required, following workplace, operational and specialised aviation safety procedures
  • Keep clear, accurate service and maintenance records, reporting completed work, faults and further repairs needed
  • Work independently while staying in touch with the wider team, supporting colleagues on breakdowns, servicing and repairs
  • Keep tools and equipment safe and serviceable, and represent the organisation well with clients and site personnel
