Machinery upkeep for the whole cropping year will sit with one capable Diesel Mechanic at a broadacre cropping business owned by a family. The fleet is up to date and varied, covering agricultural machinery, trucks and farm gear, so expect to think on your feet, including out in the paddock when something breaks at a busy time. It goes well beyond workshop work.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the upkeep and repair of every piece of farm equipment
- Inspect machines and run diagnostic tests
- Identify worn or damaged parts, order replacements and troubleshoot breakdowns
- Travel to field breakdowns and make mobile repairs in busy periods
- Keep the workshop space and the spare parts inventory in order
- Work with machinery operators and managers, and sometimes oversee junior staff
- Record maintenance and operations information
Requirements & Eligibility
- A qualified Diesel Mechanic, or one with strong relevant experience
- Able to solve problems under pressure, working independently
- Preferred: experience with agricultural or heavy machinery
- Strong work ethic
- Reliable at peak seasons
- Communication and organisation skills that are good
