Diagnose and repair heavy trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles in a growing Geelong workshop. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic position combines servicing and preventative maintenance with complex mechanical, electrical and electronic fault-finding. Quality workmanship and verification after repair guide the work, including warranty assignments when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out heavy diesel servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs and trace complex mechanical, electrical and electronic problems with diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections and repair trucks, trailers and heavy vehicles, including warranty work as required.
- Identify fault causes and recommend suitable corrections.
- Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components and test vehicles or equipment afterwards to ensure technical standards are met.
- Record completed work accurately, follow workshop safety requirements and assist colleagues while maintaining workshop cleanliness.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology or equivalent, with At least 5 years of practical heavy diesel mechanical experience.
- Practical truck and heavy vehicle servicing and repairs and sound understanding of heavy vehicle mechanical systems.
- Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting; experience across multiple heavy vehicle brands is desirable.
- Truck and trailer repair experience is highly regarded.
- Able to work independently and within a team, with keen attention to detail, quality commitment and strong safety awareness.
- Good communication and problem-solving; HC Licence is desirable and Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is desirable.
