Maintain heavy mining equipment at a major New South Wales operation, listed in Newcastle. The HD Mechanic diagnoses faults, repairs components and helps keep critical plant safe and available. Technical information and diagnostic data support planned maintenance and breakdown work.
The initial contract is 12 months, with potential extension, on a structured 2/1 roster.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain heavy mobile mining plant through scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Investigate mechanical problems and identify root causes with accurate diagnostics, repairing or replacing components as needed.
- Work on Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi and comparable machines, using technical documents and diagnostic data.
- Limit downtime and maintain availability while following site procedures and high safety standards.
- Log inspections, maintenance and repairs accurately and coordinate with site teams for reliable operation.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel, HD or Mobile Plant Mechanic and At least 5 years of post-trade industry experience.
- Proven heavy mobile plant or mining machinery work, including practical major OEM equipment experience.
- Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi equipment experience and strong mechanical repair, diagnostics and fault-finding.
- Documented employment history supporting genuine technical experience.
- Willing to work a 2/1 roster, able to work safely in demanding mining and meet applicable visa and sponsorship requirements.
