Support residents living with dementia in a Christchurch care home. The permanent full-time caregiver opening is for a minimum of 30 hours weekly and includes personal care, care planning, observation and support for registered nurses.
Hourly rates are $23.95 at Level 1, $24.06 at Level 2, $26.16 at Level 3 and $28.25 at Level 4 and above. The Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer can sponsor; visa support requires a Registered Nursing degree or a Level 3 or above relevant caregiving qualification with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).
Describe your personal care work and dementia experience in an English CV. prepare a dementia caregiving CV with your training clear. Show how you follow a care plan and communicate changes in a resident’s condition. Describe your own responsibilities clearly so practical care experience sits alongside the qualification information.
Key Responsibilities
- Help provide culturally safe, effective and holistic personal care, including showering, dressing, eating, mobility and communication.
- Contribute to care planning and follow therapy plans for people living with dementia.
- Observe and report residents' progress, promptly raising changes in condition or care concerns.
- Keep resident records accurate, appropriate and current and assist registered nurses within their scope of practice.
Requirements & Eligibility
- A real commitment to improving elderly people's lives and a passion for aged care.
- Able to cover any shift on a 24/7 roster.
- Previous caregiving experience preferred; dementia care experience would be a strong advantage.
- For visa support, a Registered Nursing degree or a Level 3 or above caregiving qualification with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).
