A rest home in Blenheim has a permanent Caregiver vacancy, full-time, with at least 30 hours each week. Its provider specialises in aged care and dementia care and is recognised for innovative ways of caring. The pay scale is $23.95 at Level 1, $24.06 at Level 2, $26.16 at Level 3 and $28.25 at Level 4 and above, per hour.
Immigration New Zealand has accredited this employer. For visa sponsorship, applicants must also hold a Registered Nursing degree, or else a qualification at Level 4 or higher that directly relates to caregiving, supported by an International Qualification Assessment (IQA). An IQA compares overseas study with New Zealand qualification levels.

Key Responsibilities
- Support residents with showering, dressing, eating, mobility and communication through holistic, culturally safe and effective personal care
- Help plan care, and carry out therapy plans for people living with dementia
- Observe residents and report on their progress, and alert the team promptly if a resident's condition changes or you have concerns about their care
- Maintain suitable, accurate and current resident records, and support registered nurses within their scope of practice
Requirements & Eligibility
- A sincere commitment to improving the lives of elderly people, and enthusiasm for aged care work
- Able to take any shift on a 24/7 roster
- Caregiving experience is preferred
- A strong advantage: experience of dementia care
- For visa support, either a Registered Nursing degree or a caregiving qualification at Level 4 or above with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
