Cut, style and groom for a varied clientele in an established Wagga Wagga barbering and hairdressing team. The opening values practical technique, professional presentation and lasting customer relationships. Suitable apprentices may also be considered where they have the practical training to contribute.
Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate; onshore applicants are preferred.
An English CV should explain the classic and modern cuts you deliver and your experience with different hair types. prepare a combined barbering and hairdressing CV with relevant training, beard work and verifiable employment detail so the reader can understand the range of your client services.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut men's, women's and children's hair in classic and contemporary styles to a high standard, consulting each customer on the desired result.
- Trim, shape and groom beards and provide wet shaving where skilled, maintaining consistent cutting, styling and finishing with care for detail.
- Recommend suitable grooming and haircare products.
- Keep the workstation organised, clean and hygienic and follow workplace health, safety and hygiene procedures.
- Provide friendly, professional service and develop relationships with new and returning clients.
- Work well with fellow barbers and hairdressers, maintain professional presentation and participate in training and development within a positive team workplace.
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant Barbering or Hairdressing qualification is preferred, with demonstrable practical salon or barbershop experience.
- Strong traditional and modern haircutting ability and confidence with different hair types and client needs.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and a strong customer service approach.
- Professional appearance and presentation, with a reliable, positive and motivated attitude and good attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and with a team, willing to learn techniques and develop professionally.
- Shaving and beard-grooming experience is advantageous; suitably practically trained apprentices may also be considered.
- Applicants must provide genuine, verifiable qualifications and employment history, and candidates must meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements.
- Onshore candidates are preferred.
